The Regional Partnership for the Conservation of the Coastal and Marine Zone (PRCM) will take part in the 11th edition of Our Ocean Conference 2026, scheduled from 16 to 18 June 2026 in Mombasa, Kenya. This international gathering will bring together governments, regional organisations, technical and financial partners, researchers and civil society actors around the major issues of ocean governance, marine biodiversity and the sustainable development of marine and coastal areas.
On the sidelines of this global conference, the PRCM will host a high-level side event entitled: “Strengthening West Africa’s Leadership on the 30×30 Target and Fisheries Governance.”
The event will take place on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (East Africa Time) at the Mombasa Continental Resort, Kenya. It will be moderated by Ahmed Senhoury, Executive Director of the PRCM. Several West African ministers in charge of the environment will take part in the discussions.
Through this initiative, the PRCM aims to highlight the political commitments made by West African countries towards the global 30×30 target, which seeks to protect 30% of the world’s terrestrial and marine areas by 2030.
