Mobilize, Protect, Act!
As we turn the page on a year rich in actions and commitments, PRCM extends its warmest wishes for peace, solidarity, and progress to all its Member States, institutional and financial partners, and civil society organizations engaged in the preservation of marine and coastal areas in West Africa.
The year 2025 will remain etched in our memories as a decisive year, marked by PRCM’s strategic leadership, which successfully brought together and united the countries of its area of intervention around the ratification of the BBNJ Treaty. This major milestone strengthens ocean governance beyond national jurisdictions, paving the way for the sustainable protection of marine biodiversity and ecosystems essential to human life.
In this new year 2026, we aspire to go even further in our commitment to coastal communities, young conservation leaders, local organizations, and grassroots actors whose daily efforts give life to our shared ambitions.
In this regard, the organization of the Regional Marine and Coastal Forum in Nouakchott in April is shaping up to be a landmark moment for dialogue, exchange, and the co-creation of innovative solutions for the inclusive, equitable, and resilient management of our coastlines.
May 2026 be a year of concrete action to build the hope of tomorrow.
